Summer cruising season is right around the corner. Are you ready? How about your car? We will be gathering in just about 2 months. The 2022 dates pages has been updated. Be sure to mark the dates on your calendar.
Sorry there were no posts for July and August but isn’t that typical of how this years has unfolded?
We did have a good turn out for our last show this month. We were glad to see everyone that came. Now it is time to polish up our cars and get them ready to be put away for the winter. A sad time for sure as we all have fun showing them off.
The winners for September are:
Best Stock – Wes Nicholas, Folsom. Blue and white 1961 Corvair
Best Modified – Sonny Irwin, Citrus Heights. Blue 1939 Chevy coupe
Best Truck – Al & Mary Lou Reichmuth, Auburn. Blue 1946 Ford pick up
We couldn’t have asked for a better night. Temperatures were perfect. And the turn out was huge. We usually don’t have a full house in June but we did this year. 350 cars lined the street and side lots! It seems everyone wants to be out and about what with being cooped up for over a year. We are over joyed that Auburn Cruise Nite is the place they want to be.
Unfortunately, we do not have pictures of this months winner.
Best stock – Ronald Mills, Newcastle with a 1948 black Mercury
Best modified – Kevin Freeman, Roseville with a 1967 red Camaro
Best truck – Matt Leatherman, Roseville with a 1967 red C10 Chevy
WOW! What a night. We were hoping for a good turn out but this was phenomenal! We hadn’t really promoted that Cruise Nite was going to happen other than posting some flyers but the word certainly got around. There were 323 cars and all you could see was a sea of people when looking up the street. A huge thank you to everyone who came out either as a car owner or a spectator. Even a week later, people are stopping Bob and congratulating him for throwing such a great party.
We are expecting another busy night on June 11th. Hope you can join us.
Our winners are:
A special thank you to The Townsmen Car Club for helping this month.
We received authorization from the City of Auburn that we can hold Cruise Nite starting on our normal May beginning date. We are so excited!
There will be some changes this year. Some of our normal street vendors will be stepping aside. Hopefully they will be back next year. We will need to stay 6 feet apart and wear masks. I know everyone is anxious to get back to normal but with some help from all of you, that will be sooner than later.
We are always looking for volunteers to help on show days. If you have some time and would like to be part of the “In Group”, Please give us a call at 530-878-7936.
Bob met with the City of Auburn last week and was told the decision for putting on Auburn Cruise Nite will need to be made by the health department. We are hopeful that by mid summer we may be able to be up and running again. Keep your fingers crossed and stay healthy so Placer County can start moving into the red and onto the orange tiers.
We seem to be in a holding pattern. Since we can’t meet in person in July, join us for a virtual car show on our Facebook page. You can post a picture of your car and people can vote for their favorite. The post with the most votes wins a prize from one of our sponsors. Hope you are at least taking your ride out for a trip around the block.
I am sorry to announce that the 2020 season for Auburn Cruise Nite has been cancelled. With the governors 4 phase plan to reopen California and all event gathering being in that last phase, we had no other choice than to cancel the entire season.
But there may be a glimmer of hope. If by any chance that phase 4 is moved up, we will try to have some type of car show in downtown Auburn in September. Please stay tuned to this website and our Facebook page for any additional information.
Our May meet for 2020 has been cancelled because of the Covid-19 virus. We are hoping we will be able to have our event in June. Please stay tuned to this website and our Facebook page for current information.
We had another beautiful evening. Usually August is hotter than blazes but not this year. Actually we have been so lucky with our weather this year. Mild temperatures, no rain and no smoke. Knock on wood that September will be just as nice.
Thank you to the Roamin’ Angels car club for helping this month. Not only do they get to pick the three trophy winners, but they also assist our volunteers.
